Zetalif LED & LASER Cell
Optical Arrangement of the System:
Collinear Excitation and Emission
.
A 2 mm ball lens is used in conjunction with the flow cell (the capillary is the flow cell), this lens has a very large aperture and maximizes the fluorescence intensity by optimizing the illumination of the inner part of the capillary cell by the laser. The ball lens also precisely focuses the excitation radiation onto the flow cell and collects the emitted radiation for transmission through the dichroic filter to the emission filter.
LIF detection is a very sensitive technique because of the light source used: the laser. It has the ability to precisely focus the excitation beam on the capillary and is specifically designed for a single excitation wavelength

Advantages of Discovery Cell

- Minimum length of capillary can be maintained

- No laser beam adjustment required when using a different capillary size or wavelength

- Flexibility of installation with CE or HPLC before MS.

- 13 lasers are available.

- Specifically designed  for Agilent CE systems. Temperature control, Anode & cathode vials automation.
Suitable system for Quality Control when used with the Agilent CE separation system.

- Can be to coupled with any HPLC system (or Fast LC) (better sensitivity is obtained at low flow rate using nano or capillary LC).

- Online CE/LIF/MS or Online Nano/Capillary-LC/LIF/MS.
The movable cell allows LIF detection to be coupled with a Mass Spectrometry system to do Online CE/LIF/MS or Online Nano/Capillary-LC/LIF/MS. The cell can be placed very near to the ESI source so that the offset of time is reduced to the minimum..

When the detector is coupled with MS detection or when it is used  with an HPLC system, a cell holder is necessary (articulated arm sold as an option)
