This new innovatively designed flow cell can be placed in any convenient location to optimize the system configuration and provides the following advantages:
- It can be integrated into the Agilent CE system to optimize system performance.
- The flow cell can be thermostated
- It can be used in high pressure applications - The Agilent CE can apply high pressure (up to 12 bar) at both ends of the column, which is necessary to maintain column-stability in CEC.
- High pressure gives the flexibility to apply maximum voltages and use conductive mobile phases without out-gassing which causes column breakdown. High pressure is also useful for rapidly flushing of viscous buffer systems for Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE) applications.
- A minimum length of capillary can be used (for short analyses, only 14 cm is required). This approach allows the analyst to reduce the run time for Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE) applications.
- It is easy to couple the innovative Discovery cell to a MS system so that LIF and MS data can be collected LC LIF MS or CE LIF MS:. The cell can be placed very near to the ESI source then the offset of time is reduced to the minimum.
